Magnesium is one of those minerals your body uses everywhere. It is involved in more than 300 enzyme systems and plays a role in energy production, muscle function, nerve signaling, blood sugar regulation, blood pressure, protein production, and the formation of DNA and bone.
Your muscles and nervous system rely heavily on magnesium. It helps regulate the movement of calcium and potassium across cell membranes, which is essential for nerve impulses, muscle contraction, and maintaining a normal heart rhythm.
